" University has a very high standard not just for the aesthetics of their projects, but also for the construction integrity"

My wife and I recently finished building our home on the seacoast. The setting is dramatic and the home is dramatic, so it was important to us that the outdoor spaces were equally dramatic, and that they enable us to get the most enjoyment possible from our location. As such, we sought referrals for the most capable and well regarded landscape/hardscape companies in New Hampshire, finally short-listing four, and conducting extensive on-site interviews with each. Although we came away thinking that each of the vendors could probably deliver a satisfactory result, Jay Rozmus clearly stood out as the one who would deliver an excellent result. Jay's landscape design skills and experience at execution would be obvious to anyone who reviews his portfolio of prior work. But there was one particular moment during our interview that I realized that for Jay, keeping his commitments and providing only the best quality were core parts of his character.

One of the elements of our plan was an idea we had for a walled-patio which would be integrated in to the side of a large outcropping of ledge, and would need to be accessed from above the ledge as well as from the patio level below. After describing what we wanted, the other vendors quickly said they could build what we described. As an engineer, though, I knew it would not be straight forward, nor was it likely to be something any of the vendors had done before. During this portion of our discussion with Jay, he began building the patio in his mind. He asked clarifying questions, offered aesthetic design adjustments, openly highlighted some of his construction concerns, and sought design adjustments to address practical issues. Only after that additional 30 minute discourse did he state he could in fact deliver what we wanted. This was my first glimpse in to one of Jay's greatest strengths - he has a very high standard not just for the aesthetics of his projects, but also for the construction integrity.

Jay knows the right way do things, and whether or not you are looking, or are even aware, he always does things the right way at every step of the process. Jay has other considerable strengths, but I found this one to be among the most important and yet least common in our experience working with vendors in all trades. And the results speak volumes. We had very high hopes for what our property could become, and yet our hopes were exceeded by a considerable margin - a rare and delightful experience.

"Jay came up with an incredible design that has truly changed and enhanced our property"

My husband and I hired Jay Rozmus of University landscaping this summer to do a rather major landscaping project at our home. He had done work for several of our neighbors and had come highly recommended. We saw the finished product which included some beautiful stone walls. We had what I thought was a very unattractive embankment on one side of our driveway. Jay came up with an incredible design that has truly changed and enhanced our property. That's the first thing that sets Jay apart. He has an amazing eye for lanscape design. We are so happy with the finished product. Jay is a true professional with an old fashioned work ethic and business philosophy. He was always very responsive to any questions or concerns and kept us updated often with written notes about the progress of the project. He is a perfectionist and loves what he does and it shows. His crew was also very professional and hardworking most of whom have worked with Jay for many years. We have had dealings with many contractors over the years, but none that have Impressed us like Jay Rozmus.

"Every project is masterfully constructed, well thought out and eloquently designed"

University Landscaping is the best landscaping company I've dealt with. In 2003 Jay Rozmus , President and Owner of University Landscaping masterfully corrected a disastrous Landscaping project of another landscaping company. The project required the removal of poorly built retaining walls, Jay and his team removed the walls, reused all the existing material and created a beautiful three tier affect. We have used Jay subsequently to add a path way and steps, a decorative rock wall and a field stone patio. Every project is masterfully constructed, well thought out and eloquently designed. Jay has a excellent sense of how to provide the balance of plants with the property. Jay delivers what he says he'll deliver. I highly recommend Jay for any Landscaping job.
